Privacy policy
Fayd is a live-fundraising platform. Each organization you give to is the charity and the merchant of record; Fayd provides the technology.
What we collect
- When you join an event: an optional first name, an optional email for your receipt, and your choice about showing your name on the screen.
- When you give: the amount, the time, and the payment method type (for example “Apple Pay”). Card numbers are entered only in Stripe’s secure fields and never reach Fayd.
- A random device identifier stored on your phone, used only (as a one-way hash) to count unique participants for the organization’s plan.
How we use it
- To process your gift and send your receipt.
- To show your first name on the big screen, only if you opted in and it passed moderation.
- To share your email with the organization only if you checked the box to allow it.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We do not use third-party ad trackers.
Who processes it
Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting and email), and an error-tracking service with personal data scrubbing.
Retention
Financial records are kept for 7 years as required for charitable receipts. Your email and name are kept until you ask us to delete them or 3 years after your last gift, whichever comes first. Guest sessions are deleted after 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete it. Financial records we must keep are de-identified instead of deleted. Make a request.
Children
Fayd is not directed to children under 13. You must be 18 or older to give.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; personal fields are additionally encrypted at the application level. Every money-relevant action is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log.
